The Phoenix Park is the largest enclosed urban public park in Europe with a walled circumference of 16 km. The park is located 1 km from The Clarence. Its original use was as a Royal Hunting Park (this is the reason why it was walled and also why it has the largest population of Irish wild Deer roaming within these walls).
Its current use is a mixuture of leisure (walking & running tracks, Bowls green, cricket, soccer, rugby pitches, motor racing and horse racing), Govermental (The president’s residence, Farmleigh estate & The Garda Headquaters) and tourist attractions (Dublin Zoo, Papel Cross & several mouments.

It also host the largest outdoor concerts in Dublin City Centre each year. Some of the concerts over the years have included:
U2, Coldplay, Robbie Williams, Red Hot Chilli Pepers, Kanye West & Tom Waits.
